There are many things to consider when purchasing a home PC. You want to look at each component of the computer and note the speed and ability to upgrade. The main components are:

1. Motherboard - This is the heart of the computer. Everything in your PC is connected to this main circuit board.

2. Processor (CPU) - This is like the brain of the computer. - The CPU actually processes all the data.

3. Memory - These are the veins of the computer which rely data from your hard drive to your CPU.

4. PCI slots - This will determine how many add-on cards can be installed. Extra USB, sound card, video, etc.

5. Bus Speed - This is the speed at which the motherboard can rely information.
